Ropa para beber

The collection “Ropa para beber” which means clothes to drink, is inspired by the delicate relationship between water and the fashion industry. Focusing on water pollution caused by dyes and textile manufacturing. With a significant focus on sustainable practices, it seeks to celebrate both the fluidity and organic beauty of water.

Water, essential to human life, is wasted daily in the textile industry, especially in the production of denim with its characteristic blue dye. Rivers in developing countries are completely stained blue, as the photograph illustrates. Paradoxically, blue is the colour associated with water, which is also emphasised in this collection.

The textile industry continues to use powerful chemicals, despite the availability of highly pigmented natural blue dyes such as Indigo, which will be the basis for the fabrics used in this collection.

In short, this collection critiques a devastating aspect of the fashion industry and aims to move away from the use of synthetic dyes and replace them with natural dyes.
